Bio

Leyla Ozmenekse received her MA degree in Descriptive & Applied Linguistics from the University of Essex, United Kingdom. She joined Zayed University in 2008 after having previously taught in the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Spain, and Turkey. She has extensive experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes, curriculum & materials development, technology-based instruction, mentoring programs, academic support for students of determination, and service learning. Her research interests include sociolinguistic variation, language & culture, intercultural communication, and cross-cultural competence.
