Bio

Michael has been a teacher, teacher trainer, examiner, examiner trainer and project manager in South Korea, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates. He has over 26 years of teaching experience in higher and adult education, including online synchronous teaching and blended learning. He holds a PhD in E-Research and Technology Enhanced Learning and an MEd in Educational Technology. Michael has been at Zayed University for 13 years and has worked in four different colleges, including University College and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. He is currently teaching the Expressive Clarity course in CIS. His research interests are related to Technology-Enhanced Learning (blended learning, digital agency, self-regulation, digital vocabulary learning) and Corpus Linguistics (use of formulaic language and collocations in students’ writing).
