Bio

Suha Karaki is Senior Instructor at the College of Education at Zayed University. She is bilingual in Arabic and English and has over fifteen years of experience in the fields of education, public relations, Arabic, translation and journalism. She is currently heading the College Website team and is part of the TEDxZayedUniversity taskforce. At present, her courses revolve around the Arabic language and Educational Psychology.

In Lebanon, Suha taught English language at the Lebanese American University. She then worked with her father in his publishing house/printing press, and she managed to succeed in attaining the ISO 9001 quality management system certificate for the family business. For four years, she worked there as a copywriter, translator and a quality controller. In Beirut, Suha also worked at Future TV as a translator and then as a reporter/editor in the news department. She also served as editor-in-chief of her university’s newspaper for one year and of a youth online newspaper called Al-Nabad for two years. Moreover, for three years, she worked as a freelance staff editor for Marie Claire Arabia magazine, where she published monthly interviews, reviews and feature stories. Suha also has four translated published books that she worked on in collaboration with Obeikan in Saudi Arabia.Suha is currently doing her PhD in Special Education and Inclusion at the British University in Dubai, with research focus on positive education and students with special educational needs and disabilities.
