Dr. Tezcan-Unal has been working at Zayed University for the University College since 2019, following her service which started at the Academic Bridge Program in 2013. She is a published scholar and practitioner-researcher specifically focusing on quality enhancement, quality development and quality-focused educational leadership issues. Burcu, who is an experienced TESOL and EAP professional amalgamated her background in teaching, training, assessment, and curriculum designing for over two decades, with her current knowledge and skills having received her professional doctorate in the field of Higher Education from the University of Liverpool, UK, in 2018. Burcu was also recognized as a Senior Fellow by Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), which is an indication of her impactful experience in the field of Higher Education as a lecturer, curriculum and assessment designer and educational leader. Her research interests indicate a dedication to enhancing students’ educational experiences focusing on improving quality and learning in the institution as an organization, which are pertinent topics in the field of higher education.
Research interests include Quality in Education, Educational Leadership, Learning Organizations, Quality Assurance and Leadership in Higher Education, Learning Outcomes Assessment, Curriculum Designing, English-Medium Instruction and quality in higher education
