Introduction

Dr. Sana Butti Al Maktoum is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Language Studies at Zayed University, Dubai campus. She was the first batch of graduates from Zayed University with a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature. She started her career as a schoolteacher at various grade levels, inspiring her to get a Master’s in Special and Inclusive Education from the British University in Dubai. Before moving to the tertiary level, Dr. Sana earned a specialized certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults (CELTA) from the British Council. Upon joining Zayed University, she taught various courses in the University College and the College of Education. She pursued her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction – English language track and has been an active researcher in various inter-institutional projects with United Arab Emirates University and the University College of London, among others. Dr. Sana speaks Arabic, English, and French; in her leisure time, she enjoys baking and watching movies.

  1. Self-Efficacy Beliefs and Practices of English Teachers in the UAE on Teaching Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students: Inter-Institutional between Zayed University, United Arab Emirates University and the University College of London and funded by the United Arab Emirates University.  
  2. Shifting Identities: Teachers or Facilitators During Time of Change and 21st Century Educational Aspiration: Inter-college project at Zayed University.  
  3. Students’ Voices on the Flipped Classroom Experience in a Higher Educational Institution: Inter-college project at Zayed University.
  4. Exploring the Impact of Evaluation on Faculty Members in Three Higher Educational Institutions in the UAE: A Sequential Exploratory Mixed-Method Study (Inter-Institutional: Inter-Institutional between Zayed University, United Arab Emirates University, and Rabdan Academy.
