Introduction

Dr. Álvaro Subero-Sáenz joined Zayed University in December 2020. Before arriving to Abu Dhabi, he primarily taught academic and professional English and business communication for the Fundació Universitat Jaume I – Empresa de Castellón (Spain), Hubei University of Science and Technology (China), and American University of the Middle East (Kuwait).

In July 2014, he received his PhD in English Applied Linguistics from the Universitat Jaume I (Spain). His doctoral thesis analysed annual reports issued by Premier League football clubs. Previously, besides his bachelor’s degree in English Philology, Dr. Subero-Sáenz successfully completed three master’s degrees in economic internationalisation and integration, as well as in international trade.

His main research interests are in the fields of academic and professional English, business English as a lingua franca, business communication (e.g., presentations), and corporate communication.
