Introduction

I am originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, but have lived and taught all over the world, most recently in Argentina and the UAE. I have been an instructor for 20 years, working in both professional and higher education.  My experience centers around developing disciplinary competencies in learners speaking an additional language. I have taught at Zayed University since 2012.

Research and Professional Activities

Research interests:

My research interests include pedagogical practices, internationalization of curriculum in higher education, effective feedback practices, and technical writing.

Current Projects:

Developing a sense of community in an online class, developing effective feedback practices for both faculty and students, developing genre literacy and genre awareness to improve discipline-specific writing competencies
