College of Education

Dean's Message

Dear all,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the College of Education at Zayed University. Our faculty members are committed to integrating the best teaching practices with the objective of preparing experts in the field of education and supporting ZU’s overall mission of graduating bilingual professionals. Graduates from our programs are successful change agents and leaders who are shaping the future of education in the UAE while substantiating H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s vision.

Our role is to enable positive transformation by preparing educators who are committed to inspiring, encouraging, and empowering future generations. Furthermore, we are responsible for providing ZU-wide Arabic Language courses as well as English Language courses for students in the majors. As the first college to receive NCATE accreditation outside the US, the College of Education is distinguished by its strong undergraduate and graduate programs, and its established connections with federal institutions, community partners, and international centers of excellence. While our undergraduate and graduate programs are benchmarked with international standards, they focus on preserving Emiratis’ national identity and nurturing UAE’s traditional values.

The College of Education is also proud to house the Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC), with a branch on each campus. The ECLC is an on-campus laboratory school and has a fourfold mission: to provide high-quality early learning experiences for children and their families; to provide exemplary learning experiences for ZU students in a best practice setting; to provide opportunities for innovative research, and to provide community outreach, networking and resource sharing opportunities for the early childhood sector in the UAE and the region.

The College of Education has a long-standing commitment to excellence in teaching, community engagement, and innovation in scholarship. Our graduates are teachers, principals, policy makers, ministry personnel and administrators, education zone representative, counselors, and social workers. They are recruited by public and private schools, Ministry of Education, Abu Dhabi Education Council, Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, Dubai Courts, Ministry of Social Affairs, and many other institutions. At the College of Education, we take pride that our graduates not only make a difference in their communities, but rather ARE THE DIFFERENCE.

I invite you to browse our website for more information about our faculty, programs, and students’ extra-curricular engagement. Please feel free to contact us for any assistance in exploring how we can help you achieve your future aspirations.
