Coming Together to Learn, Educate, and Lead

The College’s Conceptual Framework incorporates the vision of the nation’s founder, His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, for the educational and social development of all Emirati citizens into its daily teaching and learning activities. The act of “coming together” is a metaphorical concept as well as a physical manifestation of engaging in the interaction of learning, teaching, and leading.

Coming Together to Learn, Educate, and Lead frames the ZU College of Education’s mission to prepare educators for the 21st century. The Conceptual Framework brings together Zayed University’s Learning Outcomes, the Interstate New Teacher Assessment Support Consortium (InTASC) 2011 Model Core Teaching Standards, and the Core College of Education Programs’ Learning Outcomes.

The visual representation of the Conceptual Framework is a depiction of a traditional Arabic mosaic with an Islamic geometric star. The mosaic has three interconnected elements:

The globe represents the diversity of the faculty and students in the College of Education.
The four-square tiles surrounding the globe represent the College’s Core Learning Outcomes.
The four diamond tiles represent Sheikh Zayed’s vision, the UAE’s culture and traditions, ZU learning outcomes, and College of Education’s student dispositions.
The College of Education is also accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
