Ganga Dhanesh, Associate Dean and Associate Professor

Ganga S Dhanesh is Associate Professor in Integrated Strategic Communication and Associate Dean in the College of Communication and Media Sciences, Zayed University, UAE. Previously, she was Assistant Professor at the Department of Communications and New Media, National University of Singapore. 

Before entering academia, Dhanesh has had experience in corporate and non-profit organizations. Her area of research explores corporate social responsibility, employee relations, and strategic communication and her work has been published in journals such as Business Horizons, Management Communication Quarterly, Journal of Public Relations Research, Journal of International Management, Journal of Communication Management, Public Relations Review, and Public Relations Inquiry. Her work on dialectics in CSR in India won the Bob Heath Top Paper Award and Faculty Top Paper Award at the annual conference of the International Communication Association, 2012. Her research on CSR for internal relations won Outstanding Paper award from the Journal of Communication Management in 2013 and she was awarded Outstanding Reviewer in 2017. She was awarded the Zayed University Outstanding Faculty Award for Research in 2020. 

Dhanesh serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Communication Management, is on the editorial board of the Public Relations Journal, and is Guest Editor for a special issue on Public Relations in the Middle East in the Journal of Public Relations Research. Dhanesh has conducted research for organizations on topics such as gender stereotyping in advertisements, social media influencers and visual branding, and is one of the lead researchers for the Global Capabilities Framework project in the UAE.
