IPR Research Symposium in Dubai
The public relations industry has been thriving in the Middle East. Many of the world’s top public relations firms have offices in the region. The Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) has been driving growth in the region’s PR industry ever since it was established in 2001. The future for the industry seems even more promising as most private and public sector organizations are integrating public relations into their strategic goals. In the United Arab Emirates, several institutions of higher education in the country such as Zayed University, University of Sharjah, American University in Sharjah and American University in Dubai offer education and training in public relations.
The time is just perfect for strengthening connections among PR educators, practitioners and researchers in the region. What better way to do so than by organizing an Institute for Public Relations (IPR) research symposium that aims to bridge practice and academia?
IPR, established in 1956 in the United States of America, is a non-profit foundation dedicated to research in, on and for public relations. IPR focuses on research that is of importance to practice, generating insights that practitioners can apply. Today, they are one of the leading international institutions that promote connections between PR practice and research. Recent IPR research symposiums were organized in cities such as New York, Beijing, London, Hong Kong and Singapore where participants discussed the latest insights in internal communication, listening, social media, and behavioral science.
We are delighted that IPR has chosen to partner with Zayed University to conduct their first research symposium in the Middle East, on the latest trends in PR education, practice and research.
The symposium is perfect for leading public relations practitioners to understand the latest research in public relations and for researchers and educators to appreciate the most crucial issues that practitioners deal with. We hope this symposium will spark some interesting connections, conversations and collaborations!
Thank you to our partners, IPR, Mubadala and Office of Research, Zayed University.
