ZUMEFF - Zayed University Middle East Film Festival

The Zayed University Middle East Film Festival (ZUMEFF) is a Middle East wide student film festival.  Now in its 10th year, it showcases the best films from universities across the region.

The festival will showcase the best films from universities in the Middle East.  Top prizes are determined by industry judges.

ZUMEFF was established in 2010 as a graduation project by Al Yazyah Nasser Ahmad Thani Bin Obood and Reem Fakher Husain Al Zarkan with the aim to showcase student films and encourage young filmmakers in the region.

We are happy to announce that ZUMEFF is coming back for 2021!

As you know, we cancelled ZUMEFF last year due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. As the world continues to find a knew normal, we have decided to bring ZUMEFF back this year. All submissions from last year are still in contention for this years awards. We are announcing a new Pioneers Prize for 2021. Films will only be accepted this year for the Pioneers Prize.
