Bio

Dr. Jamil is an Assistant Professor of Business Communication in the College of Business Sciences at Zayed University. He joined the college in the fall of 2012. His research concentration is on health communication, marginalization and health, culture, and immigrant population. More specifically, Dr. Jamil’s research explores the role of culture and health within the theoretical and methodological framework of marginalization, critical ethnography, and subaltern studies.

His current and ongoing research deals with the voices of the patients in developing countries’ public hospitals’ outpatient departments. He is also involved in assisting in the foregrounding of marginalized immigrant workers’ voices in the realm of health communication. His research primarily focuses on the intersection of culture, structure, and agency, and it is played in the realm of health and marginalization.

Dr. Jamil is a proud Bangladeshi and is very interested in cooking different kinds of foods from all around the world and fusing them with his native flavors! His other interests include website development and photography.
