Bio
Mehreen Mookerjee is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the College of Business, Dubai. She has a doctoral degree in Economics from Cornell University (USA) for which she has done extensive research on evaluating the costs of climate change in terms of higher levels of ambient air pollutants.
More recently, Dr. Mookerjee has been working on applied microeconomics issues surrounding gender, women empowerment, interpersonal violence against women and economics of the household in a developing country context using empirical methods. Over the years, she has taught a wide range of courses on Microeconomics, Public Economics, Game Theory, Statistics, Labor etc. In 2018, she received the Best Paper Award ($1000) by the Emerald publishing house at an international conference in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kolkata.
