Bio

Amr Kotb is a Professor of Accounting. Prior to joining Zayed University, he held various positions at Prince Sultan University (Saudi Arabia), Anglia Ruskin University (UK), Middlesex University (UK), Coventry University (UK), University of Aberdeen (UK), and Cairo University (Egypt). Dr Kotb’s work has been published in highly ABS- and ABDC-ranked journals such as Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Information Systems, International Journal of Auditing, Journal of International Accounting, Auditing and Taxation, and Accounting Education: An International Journal. In 2012, he received the American Accounting Association Outstanding Education Paper Award, and in 2015 he also received one of the Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence for his paper 'E-Business Internal Audit: The Elephant is Still in the Room’ published in Journal of Applied Accounting Research, 15(1) 43-63. In 2012, he was awarded the Higher Education Academy (UK) Collaborative Teaching Grant (£156,429) to Investigate the Content and Extent of Recent Technological Developments in Accounting Curricula in UK Universities. He also secured funds for research from King Saud University (Saudi Arabia), Committee of Departments of Accounting and Finance (CDAF) in the UK, and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) in the UK. Amr is serving as a member on the review editorial board of Accounting Education: An International Journal, and as ad hoc reviewer for various journals such as Journal of Applied Accounting Research, Managerial Auditing Journal, Journal of Forensic and Investigative Accounting.
