Bio

Yi Zhang is a Full Professor of Management at the College of Business, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Before joining Zayed University, she developed a diverse professional background spanning both industry and academia. She began her career in engineering hydrology and population research in China, earning her professional engineering certification in Hydrology, and later completed three years of leadership training in Singapore, which enhanced her interdisciplinary expertise and international outlook.

Her academic career demonstrates strong global engagement, with teaching and research appointments in the UAE, China, Ireland, Hong Kong, France, and Canada. These international experiences inform her scholarship, allowing her to approach management research from cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, and comparative perspectives.

She has published more than 20 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and over 20 in Chinese outlets, along with several book chapters. Her work appears in leading journals such as the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, the Journal of Cleaner Production, and Tourism Recreation Research, among others. She was also nominated for the Best Paper Award at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Atlanta in 2017.
