Bio
Scott is an Associate Professor of the Department of Management on the Abu Dhabi campus of Zayed University.
Prior to joining ZU in 2008, he held a variety of consulting and corporate HR positions over a span of twenty years. He developed and implemented human resource systems for large organizations including General Electric, McGraw-Hill, and Pfizer. Scott also served as Director of Corporate Human Resources for Payless ShoeSource, a retail chain with 5,000 stores in 15 countries.
Scott’s research focuses on better understanding and managing performance. His work has appeared in leading journals such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Academy of Management Journal, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. His research has also been featured in trade magazines including Personnel Journal and HR Magazine.
Scott served on the editorial boards for the Journal of Business and Psychology and The Industrial-Organizational Psychologist, and was Section Editor for the second edition of The ethical practice of psychology in organizations published by the American Psychological Association.
He has taught a variety of courses in human resource management at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He currently teaches courses in Staffing, Performance Management, Compensation, and International Human Resource Management.
Scott completed his Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology at Ohio State University.
