Anestis Fotiadis

Professor of Tourism

Anestis K. Fotiadis, PhD, is a Professor at Zayed University, College of Business, Department of Management, Abu Dhabi, UAE.  He studied Business Administration at Moscow University of Commerce (BSc, 1998) and IT in Business Administration (MSc 2002) and Tourism Business Administration at Patras University in Greece (MSc, 2005).  He also holds a Ph.D. (2009) in International Business Administration from the University of Pecs in Hungary.  He has delivered lectures both at the undergraduate and the postgraduate level as a tenured faculty in universities in Greece and Taiwan before he joined Zayed University. More of that he worked several years as head of IT and research development for the public sector in Greece. For four year he was member of CCMS college where he was delivering lectures on “Event Management” and “Principles of Tourism”

His main area of research is associated with event management, theme park management, rural tourism and sustainable development. Recently he is working on neuroscience and halal tourism research. He has published more than 40 research papers in international academic journals such as Tourism Management, Computers in Human Behavior, Technological Forecasting and Social Change and Journal of Business Research, along with several books and book chapters. He is a member of multiple scientific associations and a reviewer for top tier international journals.
