Bio

Zaghum holds a PhD in finance from School of Management (SOM), University of Groningen, The Netherlands. He also holds a M.Sc, with specialization in “Financial Engineering and Management”, from University of Twente, The Netherlands and a MBA from National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan. He is associated with Network for studies on Pension, Ageing and Retirement (Netspar), The Netherlands, as a research fellow and is on the panel of HEC (Higher Education Commission, Pakistan) approved PhD supervisors.

He has diverse teaching portfolio and has taught at all levels including executives, graduate and undergraduate students. He is among the pioneering faculty of the CFA level I enhanced training program at Zayed University and is actively involved in various aspects of program development.

Zaghum has broad research interests in Financial Modeling, Empirical Finance, Corporate Finance, Risk Management, Emerging markets, Alternative asset classes and Strategic Asset Allocation. He has several publications in top ranked finance journals such as Journal of International Money and Finance, International Journal of financial Analysis, European Journal of Finance, Energy Economics, Economic Letters, Resources Policy, Economic Modelling, Pacific-Basin Finance, Applied Economics.

His personal interests include adventure sports, traveling, hiking, fitness, sitcoms etc.
