Bio

Yezen Kannan is an Associate Professor of Accounting. He holds degrees from Yarmouk University (BA), Indiana University South Bend (MS), and a Ph.D. from Florida Atlantic University in 2009. He worked in the U.S. as an academic before joining Zayed University and during that time was promoted to the ranks of Associate Professor. He has published in high quality accounting research outlets (Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, and Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance) and was the KPMG Endowed Chair from 2015-2018. Furthermore, in 2017, he became a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Currently: Auditing and Intermediate Accounting II

Past: Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting and Advanced Cost Accounting (Graduate level course).

Research and Professional Activities

My research areas include audit risk, audit fees, corporate governance and earnings management and have worked and am currently working on cross-disciplinary research.
