Bio
Dr. Joshua Jebuntie Zaato obtained his B.A in Political Science from the University of Ghana, Accra-Ghana, graduating with First Class Honors (2003), and his M.A. in Public Administration from Brock University, St. Catharines, ON Canada (2007). He also holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Ottawa, ON, Canada (2013) and has over ten years of teaching and research excellence in the field of Public Administration and Political Science.
Dr Zaato has published extensively in international leading peer reviewed journals, attended and presented research at some of the leading international conferences in the field of Public Administration in North America (Canada and USA), Europe (Rome), New Zealand, Australia, Middle East (UAE) and Africa (Kenya and Ghana).
He is a member of multiple prestigious academic and research associations including the International Research Society for Public Management (IRSPM), American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), International Political Science Association (IPSA), Canadian Political Science Association (CPSA). He is also a major and constant reviewer for multiple international journals.
Dr. Zaato is the immediate past Assistant Chair of the International Studies Department in the College of Humanities and Social Science, Zayed University (2018-2020) and also the immediate past Editor of the Newsletter of the same college. He was also a member of the College council and served on numerous committees including hiring, accreditation, teaching and learning.
In 2019, Dr Zaato and a colleague successfully won one of the most prestigious research grants in Zayed University with the award of the multi-year Research Intensive Fund (RIF) from 2019-2021. He is currently engaged in international collaborative research on oil and gas policy and governance with this funding.
Internationally, Dr Zaato has practitioner experience with the Public Sector in Ghana and in Canada. He has also worked as a consultant for reputable international organizations in Canada, including as a consultant on the Management of Public Private Partnerships for SETYM International, a leading Canadian company with global reach specializing in capacity building, training and technical support.
