Bio
Dr. Christian Chamorro-Courtland joined us as Assistant Professor upon having completed his doctoral studies in Commercial, Financial and Banking Law at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University (Canada). His PhD thesis analyzed the legal aspects and operations of central counterparty (CCP) clearing systems. He received his bachelors (LLB) and masters of law (LLM) from King’s College London (specialized in Commercial & Financial Law). He brings with him four years teaching experience while at York University pursuing his PhD; he has taught ‘Legal Process & Writing’ and ‘Banking & Negotiable Instruments Law’. During his studies he had both consular and legal internships. He speaks four languages (English, Spanish, French, German) and has lived and travelled extensively around the world (residences include Spain, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, England, Kazakhstan, China and the UAE).

Research and Professional Activities
He has published various articles and book reviews; he has also organized conferences and presented conference papers. He has special interests in public monetary law, clearing and settlement systems, financial regulation, risk and legal issues concerning international financial markets. He currently teaches courses in legal and ethical aspects of business.
