Bio
Sarah AlSeikhan is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises at Zayed University in Dubai. She earned a Master's degree in Design from the School of Visual Arts, New York and a BSc in Graphic Design and Multimedia from Dammam University, Saudi Arabia.
Prior to Zayed University, Sarah gained extensive experience in Graphic Design education at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal university (IAU) in Saudi, shaping future female designers and refining her pedagogical approach. During this period, she acquired a comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape in design and requirements specific to the region, while also spearheading various design projects and exhibitions.
Sarah has also collaborated with both private and governmental entities to foster the growth of the design community in Saudi Arabia and beyond. Her focus on professional development in the creative field has been crucial in nurturing local talent and creating opportunities for aspiring designers.
Through these partnerships and her active involvement in the design community, Sarah has bridged the gap between academic knowledge and the industry. She has organized exhibitions, workshops, seminars, and mentorship programs to equip designers with essential skills for the evolving creative landscape, enhancing individual capabilities and helping designers find their unique voice.

Research and Professional Activities
Sarah utilizes her expertise to cultivate rich cultural narratives, often focusing on creative growth and professional development of of the female Saudi design community, particularly in the eastern region. By empowering and inspiring female designers, Sarah aims to foster a more inclusive design landscape.
Sarah's research explores various visual approaches for developing and conveying narratives. She investigates how narratives can be shaped, to communicate stories, cultures and traditions. Her methods include experimental editorial design and expressive typography.
