Bio

Omair Faizullah is a multi-disciplinary designer, researcher, and writer based in Abu Dhabi, who was honoured with the prestigious "Lorenzo il Magnifico" award for digital art at the Florence Biennale in 2023. He teaches Animation & Multimedia Design at Zayed University and has previously headed the Visual Communication Design department at Beaconhouse National University.

Omair's creative pursuits include exploring generative imagery, adaptive aesthetics, postmodernist fiction, and societal constructs. Omair is interested in researching generative AI imagery and the integration of democratised contextual and regional aesthetics into image making and art/design education.

Omair is the driving force behind the - www.Arshiifna.com - project, an online archive dedicated to appropriative aesthetics in the UAE's evolving visual culture. His graphic novel, "Mirage King," is set to be published through Sandstorm Comics, an initiative with the Department of Culture and Tourism in the UAE.

He has also played a significant role in strategic communication campaigns in Kabul, Afghanistan, funded by organizations like the US State Department and USAID.
