Bio
Marisela Becerra is a globally experienced Creative Director born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. She earned her bachelors degree in Graphic Design from the prestigious Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. After graduation and working for several design studios in Mexico City, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue her graduate studies at Pratt Institute in New York City.
Marisela holds a M.S in Package Design, graduated with honors and received the Excellence in Academic Achievement and Outstanding Merit Award from Pratt Institute.
Following her graduate studies, she established herself in New York City to start her design career in branding and design management. For over fifteen years Marisela has built a very successful design career working at some of the biggest and most important global consumer product companies such as L’Oreal, Procter & Gamble and Kimberly Clark where she has been integrating her design mastery and business strategy to bring brands to life in a variety of design disciplines such as packaging and branding. During her career she has led the creative direction of multiple well known consumer global brands and lead creative design teams in the United States, Latin America and South East Asia. She is truly passionate about the power of design to transform ordinary products into brands, products and services consumers will love.
Marisela relocated to Dubai UAE in January of 2018, since then she is an independent Creative Consultant working with a variety of clients in the USA and Mexico. Since Fall of 2019 Marisela has been an adjunct Design Instructor at the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises at Zayed University in Dubai, UAE.
Marisela is passionate to share with the next generation of female designers best in class design tools and processes to help them design with clarity, authenticity, and emotional resonance.
