Alanood Bukhammas
Bio
Alanood Bukhammas is a Graphic Design Instructor at the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises, Zayed University, Dubai. She holds a master’s degree in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship in Design from Goldsmiths, University of London.
She has taught courses in the Graphic Design department at CACE since 2016 and was the Graphic Design coordinator since 2020. In both her administrative and teaching roles at ZU, Alanood has been preparing students for the evolving demands of the design industry. She emphasizes the importance of design research, developing designers as thinkers, makers and curious beings.
Her teaching philosophy centers on learning through design research, highlighting experimentation/ exploration, bilingual design, visual and cultural studies, industry-led projects and fostering connections that extend beyond the classrooms, with partners from governmental agencies, key community events, and private sectors.
Outside of university, Alanood participates in leading creative conferences, summits, and panels, and contributes as a workshop leader and jury member within the UAE and internationally. Her current research, "Visual Narratives of Nationhood," explores fundamental expressions of visual narratives in the Gulf, both historical and contemporary, while integrating these insights into regional design education.
