Bio
Omair Faizullah is an Abu Dhabi-based designer and writer. Prior to teaching Animation at ZU, he was heading the department of Visual Communication Design at the Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan. Omair is a founding member of the Design Summit Pakistan and has led two landmark Design Summit - Prologue events with the aim of developing a sense of community and discourse in the discipline of design in Pakistan.
Having received his MFA Degree in Design & Technology from Parsons School of Design, New York, Omair has led creative teams in the broadcast industry for over 10 years.
Omair has developed and implemented nation-level strategic communication campaigns in Kabul, Afghanistan – while working on US State Department, USAID, and UNODC funded projects. As part of the "Partnership" project with the US State Department, Omair created and wrote a series of comics for Afghanistan's first superhero, "Mir Watan".
His work explores generative techniques through computation and geometric manipulation and revolves around themes based on postmodernist fiction, power structures, and societal constructs/aberrations.
