Master of Architecture from Columbia University

Karim Musfy is a seasoned executive with a strong educational background and over 20 years of international professional experience in real estate development, consultancy and academia. His strengths include project management, design and planning, operations, business development and client relationship management.

Karim was currently with KEO International Consultants, leading large-scale projects that include the design and construction of mixed-use developments, such as the Dubai Expo Village and 16 ADEC schools. Before joining KEO, he was Senior Associate Partner at PLP Architecture, an international consulting firm based in London. Prior to that, Karim was General Manager of Design and Planning at Bloom Properties, a leading real estate developer in Abu Dhabi, where he oversaw global projects collectively worth USD 25 Billion. As a member of the Management Investment Committee, he actively participated in executive decisions brought to the Board of Directors. Earlier, Karim served as the GCC Head of Design and Construction at Saraya Development Group, mandated to establish the department, hire staff and lead the management of projects worth over USD 4 Billion.

Prior to moving to the UAE, Karim worked for three of the most prestigious international architectural firms based out of New York. He started his career in architecture with Eisenman Architects in NY, led by the famous architect himself; he then ran his own practice in Beirut while serving as Adjunct Professor of Architecture at the American University of Beirut (AUB) for 8 years, followed by Assistant Professor at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) for a year. Karim returned to New York in 2003 to join Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) as Associate and then moved on to Perkins & Will as Senior Associate. While working with these large architectural firms, Karim managed international projects worth over USD 1 Billion, mainly in the Middle East.

Karim holds a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University. He is also a member of the Project Management Institute in New York City and the Order of Engineers and Architects in Lebanon. His work was cited in numerous publications including A+U and El Croquis and he is mentioned in Eisenman Architect’s publications Diagram Diaries and Selected and Current Works.

A US citizen, Karim is fluent in both English and Arabic and has working knowledge of French. He resides with his family in the United Arab Emirates.
