Bio

Joanne Renaux is an illustrator, visual arts educator and freelance project manager for art events held in UAE. Her B.F.A and M.A were received from Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA), USA in 2004. She held the position of  Head of Arts for an IB international school in Dubai from 2005-2010. Understanding the need to bridge art education and the emerging art and design industries, she joined TheJamJar as Creative Learning Manager to develop an Artist Residency, Young Artist Programme (YAP) and art engagement programs. These programmes included projects with Abu Dhabi Art from 2011-2013 to produce ArtZone; and with Sikka in 2012 to create art workshops. In 2014, Joanne joined Zayed University as project manager to produce ISEA2014 and held the position of Adjunct Instructor at College of Arts and Creative Enterprises, till date. Joanne continues teaching, developing her practice as an illustrator and is currently working as project coordinator for a research project, Innovation Initiative (IN).
