Vision, Mission, and Goals

CACE Vision

The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises (CACE) aims to prepare students to become creative leaders in the arts and related industries within the gulf region and further afield.

CACE Mission

Its mission is to provide student artists and designers with an opportunity to explore and develop their own creative ideas while contributing to national cultural, entrepreneurial, and social/educational initiatives in the United Arab Emirates. This mission is accomplished through specializations and initiatives in which students:

  • Integrate traditional and new practices in the production of exciting and innovative outcomes.
  • Are adaptable and flexible in their professional practices.
  • Give back to their community.

CACE Goals

Goal 1: Educate Graduates who have:

G1.1 The ability to integrate traditional and new creative practices in the production of exciting and innovative outcomes.

G1.2 The ability to work successfully as leaders in the world of art and design.

G1.3 The capacity to be adaptable and flexible in their professional practices.            

G1.4 Good visual, verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic, required for an art and design professional in the UAE.                                       

G1.5 An understanding of best business practices in the creative enterprises to secure partnerships and opportunities within the creative industries (Entrepreneurship).

G1.6 The ability to utilize Mobile Technology in order that they become “design generators" and not simply "users".

G1.7 The ability to pursue postgraduate studies or establish themselves as committed artists and designers in the national and international creative industry.

Goal 2: Develop a strong base of research capacity and creative activities to meet UAE National needs for art and design by:

G2.1 Actively seeking research and creative outreach opportunities in appropriate professional venues throughout the United Arab Emirates and the international community.

G2.2 Developing an academic center for the arts by tracking the development and growth of the cultural identity of the country through documentation and research.

G2.3 Actively promoting exchange between local, national, and international artists, designers, and scholars throughout international conferences, exhibitions, and lectures.

G2.4 To facilitate the successful employment of graduates in art and design.

G2.5 Actively seeking funding from the University, industry, and government agencies at all levels for research and creative projects targeted to regional needs.

G2.6 Hiring and encouraging research-active faculty.

G2.7 Developing a graduate research-based program in art and design.

Goal 3: Provide appropriate support for teaching, learning, research and administration by:

G3.1 Developing cutting-edge research & development laboratories to support research, development, and commercialization: (Robots in Arts and Creative Enterprises and 21st century fabrication).

G3.2 Providing highly professional and responsive administrative support to administrators, faculty, staff and students.

G3.3 Providing teaching laboratories equipped and maintained with industry standard and high-end hardware, software and art and design equipment to support active learning (Robots in Arts and Creative Enterprises and 21st century fabrication).

G3.4 Promoting faculty governance and empowering staff to contribute to the improvement of the College’s operation processes

The CACE mission statement is developed to align with university mission statement and strategic objectives. The goals stated above are aligned to with the university strategic objectives as shown in Table 1.1a.
