21 Apr 2016In March 2016 Karen Oremus presented her solo exhibition Retrospektiva at the Museum of Seljačke Bune, and received the Croatian Woman of Influence Award (Arts and Culture), and delivered her paper titled Emirati Women Driving Growth and Sustainability in UAE Creative Industries at the Advancing Women Advancing Economies Conference in Zagreb Croatia.
Other 2015-16 projects of Karen’s include curation of the exhibition Geo-Codes: Mapping a Practice in the Post Print Age at the History Museum of the China Academy of Art; exhibited in The Games People Play, at the 1st CAA Printmaking Biennial at the Contemporary Art Museum of the China Academy of Art; dissemination of her paper titled New Ways of Multiple Making: Perceptual Pathways in Printmakingat theat the 2015 IMPACT: International Multi-Disciplinary Print Media Conference.She also presented her paper The Perpetual Motion of Printmaking and it’s Place in the United Arab Emirates at the 1st International Forum of Printmaking Art School Deans, at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. In April, she co-curated Geo-Codes II at the North View Gallery, and she participated in the peer-reviewed exhibition Animation and Printmaking, at the white Box Gallery both in conjunction with the SGCI Printmaking Conference in Portland Oregon. In May, Karen will take part in the two-person exhibition “Synergy”- a collaboration between herself and CACE Alumni Mariam Al Ali in Sofia Bulgaria.
