The Numismatic Museum participating again this year in the celebration of the European Days of Cultural Heritage, with a common theme for all of Europe "Cultural Heritage and Tradition: Testimonies of yesterday to today" is organizing a periodic exhibition with works by the Contemporary Visual Artist and Professor Ioannis Galanopoulos Papavasileiou entitled: "Views from Expatria. Home-No Home".

The residences of Ilion Melathron host seven creations of the artist inspired by the experience of expatriation as a form of human mobility and displacement
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 12:00, while its duration will be until November 29, 2023.

The works of Ioannis Galanopoulos Papavasileiou placed on the marble hearths of Ilion Melathron capture the experience of expatriation as an added form of mobility that is not the norm of the privileged classes but introduces a more ambiguous way of being. It is a series of original photographic works with the subtitle "Home No Home" that are related to place, expatriation, and the identity of the expatriated citizen.
