Transportation Regulations and Guidelines
Zayed University has a fleet of vehicles which can be reserved by faculty and staff when travelling within the Emirates for official university business and activities.
Daily Inter-Campus (DXB &AUH) Shuttle Services
- Faculty or staff who have dual responsibility on both the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Campus can avail of the transport shuttle which operates daily. As we have limited capacity, transport requests are on a " first come, first serve" basis and the request should be sent in advance TravelServices_DXB@zu.ac.ae for Dubai or TravelServices_auh@zu.ac.ae for Abu Dhabi respective to the location.
- The University does not offer commuter services faculty and staff who are assigned to work on campus in one city but live in another location are responsible for arranging their own transport to and from work
- Collection and drop off points will be from/to Dubai and Abu Dhabi campuses and locations approved by Campus Services.
- The daily schedule is subject to change.
Other Transport
- When a college/department has a visiting consultant/cohort instructor/visitor they can request transportation for the visitor to and from campus as well as for any official offsite meetings
- Campus Services will assist in arranging a taxi or alternative transport when there is no availability on the University vehicles. As this carries a cost the traveler will have to get e-mail approval from their department head
- As the University transport is for official use and limited resources are available we unfortunately cannot extend the services to include family members, friends, or relatives and/ or for recreational use.
- For faculty and staff who are required to overnight in Dubai or Abu Dhabi they can reserve University Transport to their respective hotels, this transport will leave at 5pm from Campus and is again subject to availability. For the return trip the following morning from Hotel to Campus a taxi should be taken the cost of which can be claimed via local expense claim form along with the per diem claim
- For transfers to and from the airport when traveling for professional development/international business the member of staff or faculty should arrange their own ground transportation which they can include with their submission of conference expenses
Student Transport
- Day to day student transportation is handled by Student Life, however Campus Services can assist in reserving buses for field trips etc. The reservation for this needs to be made by a member of faculty and it is the responsibility of the faculty member to ensure that each trip has a chaperone on it.
