What We Do
The Information Technology Department:
- Comprises dedicated full-time professionals organized into four units, each unit plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Zayed University employees and students by delivering the highest quality computing, proactive services, technical supports and advanced solutions.
- Offers comprehensive supports to Zayed University's staff, faculty, and students through software development, system deployment, infra/network maintenance, IT/AV client support services, etc.
- Establishes and upholds IT infrastructure and smart services in adherence to government standards and industry best practices.
- Develops and executes IT business applications that enhance efficiency, service quality, and foster innovation for various users at ZU.

Engages in continuous collaboration with ZU Stakeholders and other sectors, actively seeking and adopting best methodologies, services and products.
- Maintains and enhances the IT solutions/devices utilized within the University, including applications, servers, smart mobile devices, etc.
Unit Services:
Infrastructure & Network Services Unit:
01. Manage and maintain the infrastructure projects, wired and wireless networks, and associated devices.
02. Providing reliable and secure IP telephony service for all university employees and manage all communications.
03. Participate in matters related to the strategic planning of infrastructure and network services as well as their continuous development through project management, resources and budgeting requirements.
04. Supervise information and network data integrity, including data centers, communications networks, and data center operations.
05. Prepare research including a feasibility study and pilot implementation to provide recommendations for purchasing network systems, monitoring applications and related software.
06. Any of the other tasks that are directly or indirectly related to the work of Zayed University, as assigned by the Director of the Department.
Enterprise Technology Unit:
01. Manage technologies, operations, processes and develop institutional systems at the University.
02. Providing secure information systems for data entry and extraction at Zayed University.
03. Design and develop “The Smart Phones and Devices Application Strategy" across the University which includes development of new integrated applications, hardware applications, smart phone applications and smart panels.
04. Supervising the operations of converting programs to smart applications at enterprise level.
05. Provide application support and work closely with different administrative departments to develop smart systems and innovative solutions as well as improve them according to the best standards and the needs of the institution.
06. Any other tasks that are directly or indirectly related to the work of the University, as requested by the Department’s Director.
Client Service Unit:
01. Carry out technical support services for programs of the colleges as well as supporting the integration of technology in order to serve the learning environment.
02. Design and implement training programs for staff, faculty and students to provide instructions/guidelines for using hardware and software effectively.
03. Work with staff and faculty members to promote the effective integration of technology used to support the educational environment.
04. Design and implement a special plan to provide continuous and effective support for laptop programs and smart devices for students.
05. Provide technical services, support video conferencing, display devices in classrooms, and smart panels with proper management and control of IT stocks and resources.
06. Any other tasks that are directly or indirectly related to the work of the University, as requested by the Department’s Director.
Academic Technology Unit:
01: Managing academic systems and smart academic applications in line with the university's goals and learning requirements.
02: Monitor the performance of academic systems and enable latest versions of academic systems in order for performance improvement.
03: Provide secure academic information systems, including the implementation of privacy techniques, electronic connectivity, data recovery, etc.
04: Diagnose operational problems for academic services and provide appropriate support as well as solutions for academic systems and applications.
05: Manage project implementation and support current & new academic programs, smart services by setting the required budgets and allocating the right resources.
06: Communicate with academic units and colleges to coordinate academic activities, work of various programs, exchange information, etc.
07: Oversee, evaluate and improve the performance of allocated academic resources.
08: Provide direction, leadership and advice to service owners in determining academic strategies and requirements to enhance the value of smart applications and solutions at the university.
