Zayed University students present their "Story Mile" project at Abu Dhabi Book Fair
Zayed University students presented the next installment of their Story Mile project, an initiative where they created original local fairy tales and fables based upon traditional characters and compiled them into published works.
Promoting the second collection, students took part in discussions in addition to telling two selections from the new book in the spirit of Emirati oral storytelling tradition. The first short story, Donkey Noon, centered on a young Emirati child who promises a ghostly desert animal to obey his parents or risk being eaten alive. The second, Mirror Images, is a tale of a jealous teenager whose revenge on her sibling comes at a tragic cost.
