Zayed Football team earns victory

Zayed University’s ladies Football team ranked first in the UAE Women’s Football League 2013- 2014, with remarkable success across all games.
The competition was held between April 28 and May 27, 2014, where Zayed University football team won all three games played: against Aljazeera University with a score of 15-1, against Abu Dhabi University with a score of 22-1, and against Sheikha Fatma bint Mubarak Academy with another winning score of 11-2.
"We’ve worked very hard to win this tournament, and I am very proud of our team. Four of our players were chosen to represent the UAE Ladies Football Team. This is a wonderful achievement”, said Wissem Chenoufi, the team’s coach.
Zayed University student Afra bin Hendi, was selected as the best player of the competition with a total number of 23 goals in three games.
Afra bin Hendi, Hind Al Rayes, Latifa Al Karrani and Roudha Al Mansoori were also selected to play for the UAE Women’s National Football team.
"We are very proud of our team. They train hard and they are dedicated. I am hoping that we will compete on an international level in 2015", said Zelda van Rooyen, Recreation Coordinator at Zayed University.
The team consisted of the following players:
Afra Mehayer, Zahra Zaki, Reem Hussain, Roudha Al Mansoori, Latifa Al Karrani, Hind Al Rais, Mizna Ali, Hallah Saeed, and Yasmeen Abdulla.
