Zayed University student earns an ADMAF Creativity Award

Fatma Fairooz, a student of the College of Creative Arts and Enterprises at Zayed University, was awarded the Gulf Capital-ADMAF Creativity Award 2014 in Visual Art.

The ADMAF witnessed a large student participation from universities and colleges across the UAE this year. A total of 27 nominations were received in the following art forms: video/film, photography, visual arts, animation and comic arts, creative writing and performing arts.

An internal selection committee shortlisted the applications and an external jury of ADMAF advisors and Emirati artists chose the winner. Fatma’s oil painting portrait entitled, ‘Katharina’ was selected as the winning entry in the Visual Arts category.  She was awarded a prize of 10,000 AED.

Fatma is a dedicated Zayed University art student who is committed to the process of artmaking and has a keen interest in portraiture.  She also recently was awarded first prize in the visual art category in the Sheikha Manal Young Artist Award Competition for her work entitled “Dawn of the Cap”.
