Three Zayed University educators selected to be Apple Distinguished Educators

Elizabeth Birch, Jennifer McCoy and Nicholas Yates were selected to represent the United Arab Emirates as Apple Distinguished Educators (ADEs) in the Class of 2013 for Europe, India and the UAE. The trio attended the recent ADE Institute in Cork, Ireland, during the summer break and had a tremendous time growing professionally as educators and professional developers. They were 3 of only 4 higher education educators from the UAE, and 3 of 9 UAE educators selected in the class of 2013.

The ADE Institute also provided an excellent venue to meet and share ideas with other like-minded educators from more than a dozen countries and a variety of educational contexts. Some highlights included advanced workshops in Apple creative and productivity programs (Keynote and iBooks Author) that showed how to engage students by designing visually and intellectually stimulating materials.
