Maha Yaqoot
Year of graduation: 2013 B.S in Integrated Strategic Communication
She was part of the Student Council (2011-2012), President of the Honor Council (2009-2012), and Member of the PALs program (2012-2013).She also had the chance to represent ZU in countries like U.S, Turkey, Canada, Qatar, Switzerland, Scotland, Bahrain and Sweden. Maha also participated in INJAZ program (student startup program) and her team 'Mark the Date', clinched the top award of 'Best Student Company of Year 2012' along with 'Best Marketing Plan' award. This award qualified the team to represent the UAE in the regional competition in Qatar. In 2013, Maha was selected to do her internship at the Boeing Company in Seattle, U.S. for 6 months, and within that semester, she was awarded best Intern for Spring Semester 2013 at Zayed University.
Through ZU, Maha had the chance to go abroad for the first time on her own. This experience taught her to depend on herself, and got to meet people from all walks of life. Because of her travels during ZU, she knew that she wanted to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and represent her country abroad, and so this experience allowed her to choose her career path.
Maha is currently a Diplomatic Attaché at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs working in Strategy department. She graduated from Emirates Diplomatic Academy with a degree in UAE International Affairs and Diplomacy and she will be graduating this year with a M.A in Diplomacy and International Affairs from ZU. She also received a language certification in Mandarin Chinese (HSK) Level 2.
