Allison Fox

MLPD Advisor

Allison has worked at Zayed University since 2011, developing programming and opportunities for student leaders. She has a background in career, leadership, and personal development, and worked at Michigan State University and the American University of Kuwait prior to moving to the UAE. She has a Master’s Degree in Student Affairs Administration, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and a passion for connecting students with meaningful learning opportunities. Allison is thrilled to be the Advisor of the Alumni Mentoring and Leadership Committee and to develop engaging and interesting experiences for ZU’s alumni and students.

Naeema Al Menhali
(Alumni)

MLPD President

Naeema Al Menhali holds an Executive Master in Public Administration from Zayed University, April 2013(Distinction with Honor) and she holds bachelor degree in Information System and Technology Management from ZU, June, 2009 with distinction. Currently, she is working for the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology as Senior Telecommunication Engineer. She has excellent experiences on developing and implementing creative ideas, leading team, managing projects, supervising and implementing programs.

She is the President of Mentoring and Leadership Professional Development Committee, leading group of members who graduated from different majors in different years. She will inspire and motivate the committee members by providing them with necessary tools and professional development programs to be prepared well to achieve the committee goals and serve the UAE society.

She established this committee with Alumni Association Board to connect current students, graduates and UAE community with each other and offer the support to them through mentoring, leadership and professional development programs. She is willing to share her knowledge and experiences with ZU and greater community. She will empower students and graduates and develop them to overcome challenges and obstacles. She hopes that this committee will help to prepare ZU alumni and students well to become leaders and ambassadors for ZU and the UAE. She hopes that MLPD committee will help in the development and prosperity of the UAE.

Shareefa Aladawi (Alumni)

Vice President 

She graduated from Zayed University in 2009 holding bachelor of Environmental Health. She started working in Dolphin Energy in January 2010 as HSE Engineer for the first two years till she completed her Individual Development Plan, then she became as workplace health and Safety specialist. Her work mainly in health and safety for employees in two different places: Abu Dhabi and Qatar plants, in addition, to other responsibilities.

She can give the committee trainings on her experienced areas such as leadership, commitment, teamwork.

She is expecting from the committee to be highly involved with ZU students at the beginning and then going out to the community, also to get the necessary trainings that will develop them to be more in leading positions and to get the right steps on mentoring and advising.

Mouza Al Hameli

Communication Coordinator 

She graduated from ZU in June 2012, majored in Environment health. Currently, she is working as a Coordinator Environment in ADNEC. She worked in a temporary position at ZU as a Finance Officer and Administrative officer. She can offer her knowledge and experience in ZU and in work. She hopes that the committee will help ZU students in overcome their obstacles either during study or after graduation.

Muneera Aqeel (Student)

She is a Multimedia Design student at Zayed University. She is currently enjoying the experience of life. She loves learning new things and is eager for gaining knowledge. She always aims for the best in her life. She is a simple person with great ambition. She is looking forward to enhance her skills in every aspect of her life. She loves reading, writing, photography, poetry and arts. She also loves to spend her time with family and friends.

Latifa Al Hammadi (Student)

Marketing Coordinator & Graphics Designer 

She is majoring in Security and Networking and this is her third year at Zayed University. She is looking forward to learn from other committee's members experience and to share her experience with other members.

Zainab Al Haddad (Alumni)

She is an IT graduate from ZU in 2007. After taking a part in IBDAA Program offered by Ministry of Presidential Affairs, she started working as a Project Coordinator with ALDAR properties for 3 years. She had the chance to experience the Real estate environment and Project Management skills.

Afterwards she joined Tawazun in 2011 for more challenging role in Transaction Advisory Unit. She was exposed to the Defense sector and the various investments that her companies handle. Feasibility studies, valuations, tendering are the company's core work.

Being a member in the ZU Committee, she wants to share her various experience and knowledge and be able to assist the students to explore their abilities and be able to face the obstacle during and after university.

The committee will be hopefully able to fulfill the objective of UAE vision through being a leader in developments and especially the people’s development side. We will work together to bring out the leaders within.

Heba Al Braiki (Alumni)

She Graduated From Zayed University in 2007 from the College of Communication & Media Sciences, and continued her study by taking Master degree in Human Resources Management from Abu Dhabi University with honor in 2009.

Currently she is doing her DBA which the study of her dissertation is focused on HR. She is also certified as consultant, trainer and hold mini MBA in Management and Strategic Planning.She was active during her study years through her involvement in several activities in the summer training, organizing, participating, or volunteering in several events and exhibition in the country, also she was one of Zayed University Ambassadors and went to four scholarships through ZU, include US, Scotland, Paris & Singapore.

Since her graduation from ZU she worked in Federal National Council and holds a new and unique position that created after interring 9 women members to the UAE Parliament. She joined later the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority, and worked in both the Corporate Communication department and the HR department as a Manager.

She is currently a Human Resources Manager, Consultant, and member in the MLPD.As a Member in MLPD she can use her skills and experience as trainer and as expert in the HR & PR to enhance the initiatives of the committee and support the creativities as well as provide feedbacks and training to the community through ZU.

Wazeera Ahmed (Alumni)

She graduated from the College of Information Technology in 2007. She is currently working as a Network Engineer at Zakum Development Company (ZADCO) for 5 years, during which she had the opportunity to train university students joining the company for their internships and work placement requirements. She is looking forward to share her experience with the committee and to learn and develop through my tenure with them.

Aysha Al Zaabi (Alumni)

She graduated in 2003 with distinction in the field of Information Technology and Sciences, She has master in Public Administration.

She has variation of work experience either public or private and nonprofit organizations lasted for 6 years, currently she is running her own business in the import sector almost for 2 years. Thus, she can offer the committee her experience in leadership and management since she has been the team leader, organizer, coordinator in almost all her career life.

However, now she is being a multifunctional since she has to do most of the administrative work starting from planning ending with recruiting. She hopes this committee would benefit from its own harvest by applying her experience in flourishing University's development as a rising star among other not just local Universities hopefully in the national region as well!

Afaf Ahmed (Alumni)

She is a graduate student from Zayed University in 2011, majoring in school Social Work. She is working as a counselor and social worker at Emirates National School as her first work experience.

She is in role to help students realize their potential by focusing on their accomplishments and reflecting on past successes helps promote positive self-concept. She expect from the committee to develop her leadership and professionalism by sharing the skills and life lessons of committee’s members.

The committee will give the chance to participate in an existing projects and workshops based on members' interests. It will build and increase her power and influence within the community. As any member, she can help the committee in providing a support network for ZU students through academic, social and personal development. Also, it will be a chance to advise and support diverse students at any stage of their experience in an informal, interactive and collegial setting.

Mawya (Alumni)

She is currently a Communications Manager at twofour54, Media Zone Authority- Abu Dhabi. Named after the geographical co-ordinates of Abu Dhabi, twofour54 is an initiative by the Abu Dhabi government to create an Arabic media & entertainment hub for the Middle East & North Africa. Prior joining twofour54, she worked as a Corporate Communications Manager at Reem Investments.

Reem Investments is a private investment company located in Abu Dhabi which consists of Reem Developers, Reem Capital, Reem Leisure, and Logistics. She started her career at Abu Dhabi Terminals (Port Zayed), in the Commercial Department. Abu Dhabi Terminals manages and operates Abu Dhabi’s four main ports. Mawya was mainly involved with the marketing and cruise activities of Port Zayed.

She has a B.Sc. in Public Relations and Advertisement from Zayed University and is currently completing her graduate studies in MSc Marketing from Strathclyde University.

Hamda Al Muhairbi (Alumni)

She graduated from the college of health sciences in 2009, majored in health education and health promotion. Her knowledge in these criteria includes implementing projects in certain areas. She would like to get this knowledge to help in the processing of this committee which will guarantee student receiving high service in their academic years. In this stage she can demonstrate leadership in the favor of seeking students’ benefits. Whereas many student aspect from this committee, she would be as one of the trusted members for the students’ support.

Aishah AlDhanhani (Alumni)

Completed her EMBA with ZU in 2007, but finished her higher diploma in accounting at HCT in 1996 and bachelor also at HCT 2002 in business admin.She have been in the banking sector over 18 years and in that over 15 years in the Audit function.She believes with the experience she have she can help mentoring students in finding their career path specifically if in the financial sector.

She is more than happy to explain to students and present to what the audit function is and difference between the internal and external audit and accounting.She thinks the committee with experienced members should conduct kind of understanding sessions for those students about to graduate to help them understand the market and also understanding sessions to new students to help them understand the different majors and how the selected major can help them draw their future professional career.

Ebtisam Mahmoud (Alumni)

She is Zayed University graduate with high level of determination, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills. Passionate about providing community services and supporting others. Committed to continuous professional development. Graduated in January 2013, from the college of Education. Specialized in Children, Youth, and Family services with minor in psychology. Scholar in Undergraduate Research Scholarship Program (URSP) in cohort 2. Interested in family counseling. Able to organize and lead workshops and campaigns, as she managed and led a campaign to raise awareness of blackmailing in pre-marital relationships with her group members at the Social Support Centre. Hope the committee helps her in staying in touch with ZU students to benefit them from her experience after graduation.

Ayesha AlRemeithi (Alumni)

She graduated in June 2003, from college of Family Science, her major is Community and society Services. She has work experience in private and government sector for 5 years. Her first job was as Assistant librarian at Emirates National Private School. Then she worked at the same position at ALYasminah Private School. She is currently working at Corniche Hospital as Health Officer. She has experience in teaching, managing projects, creating programs, research and leading voluntary groups based on involvement with Student Council at High schools in 1996 to 1998 and Finally as president of the first Student Council at Zayed University in 1998 . She love reading, writing, cooking and doing tradition handmade works. She believes nothing is impossible in life when you believe of what you want to achieve. As being part of the committee she will contribute to its success. She will do her best to promote the role of the committee and market the member’s achievements.

She will share her work experience with ZU graduates and students which she hopes to motivate them to work hard to set and achieve their goals and ideas despite their work environment that really full of many different challenges. She believes that ZU graduates and students are an excellent models who are qualify and talented with great knowledge, they can be serve our country and keep it always at first position as always our leader wishes. She is sure that the committee will create programs that enlighten current ZU students, helps them to face challenges, achieving their dreams and help them to cope with the university life.

Salwa Fadhel (Alumni)

She holds a master degree in International Business from Zayed University (Jan 2010); a master certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University School of Business (2011); and a Bachelor degree in Communications and Media Sciences from Zayed University (Jan 2007).

Salwa has more than six years of experience where she had the opportunity to work on several key policy and strategy related projects within the government of Abu Dhabi, that includes being part of the core team working on the development of Abu Dhabi Vision 2030, the Five Year Economic Development Plan 2008-2012, and Abu Dhabi Science, Technology and Innovation Five Year Plan 2012-2016.

She also worked on several projects on topics such as SME’s development, entrepreneurship, competitiveness, tourism, planning economics and science related conferences, among other topics.

One of the projects that is dear to her heart is “Dirhami” as she was the initiator and the project manager of developing Abu Dhabi’s first Financial Literacy Strategy that aimed at enhancing individual’s knowledge and awareness in how to manage their finances in Abu Dhabi.

During her experience, Salwa has developed her strengths in project management, analytical thinking, and problem solving, while utilizing her knowledge from her undergraduate degree in strategic communications. At the same time, she was engaged in coaching and monitoring team members in different projects and different positions. Salwa hopes that through the committee she will have the opportunity to share her humble knowledge and experience with the students and learn from them at the same time.

Asma Al Ali (Alumni)

She graduated in June 2009, from the College of Communication and Media Sciences/ specialized in Public Relations and Advertising. She has been working for the Institute of Applied Technology for about 10 months as Officer, Student & Academic Services. She deals with students from different ages, students who are young and just graduated from the high school and others who are mothers or above 30 years old. One part of her job is to help students with the academic difficulties and personal issues. She would like to contribute in implementing the committee’s scheduled projects and to come up with new ideas that enrich the social and academic life of ZU students. As most of the committee members are employees who are working in different environment and institutes, she believes this will help to share the experience and come up with many projects which will add value.

Hamda Rashed (Alumni)

She graduated since 2004 from ZU, business college. She joined emirates Steel from 2005 till date. She hope MLPD committee to become one of the most important and helpful committees in the UAE.

Nawal Al-Qadi (Alumni)

She graduated in Jan 2008 from ZU with bachelor degree in Information System – Network. She has completed her Master in Engineering Management with Distinction from Abu Dhabi University in Aug 2013. Now she is working in Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi as Program Manager, but before she was Project Manager for around 5 years. She uses all her skills in Project Management to deliver what need to be delivered in planned date. by being aware of what ZU and community needs, then work on making them share experiences, they will get max benefits. This is because adding and sharing benefits will make the committee success.

Shaikha Al Ahbabi (Alumni)

She graduated from Zayed University, her major is Human resource management . She is working in the statistic training institute. She has master degree in NLP and she has degree in self development consultant She can provide 2 seats in the STI for each soft skills course and statistic course, Male and female can attend the course.

Noura Khamis (Alumni)

She got Master of Educational Studies from HCT, and Diploma In Human Energy from Canadian Center for Power Human Energy and other Master of Education from Deakin University, Australia. She graduated from ZU Bachelor in Education with Honor in 2001. She is professionally qualified experienced teacher of Islamic Studies and author of two educational books proactive in demonstrating and Student Centered Learning approach in government schools.

Adept at utilizing state-of-the-art techniques and methods for teaching and learning. Committed to promoting and stimulating interest in Islamic Studies, Culture and Heritage through delivery of fun learning activities applied and related to learners lives.

Ambitious to gain further academic qualifications by enrolling in a PhD program. Excellent self-management skills and passionate about life-long learning and continuous professional development.

She worked in Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), Abu Dhabi, Islamic Studies Teacher in Al Irtiqa Government School, Al Wathba Government School and Sheikh Zayed Private Academy School for Girls. She taught primary, preparatory and secondary stages using various teaching methods such as; lecturing, peer work, collaborative learning, learning through research and discovery, educational games, adaptation of learning environment. She also conducted observation lessons at school level, cluster level and Abu Dhabi level with an open invitation to attend and watch learning stations in Islamic studies.

She was appointed as Islamic studies coordinator in all three schools, member of School Strategic Planning Team, developed and lead on Projects and Events, prepared and presented workshops for students and teachers. She has strong Community Engagement such as: cooperated with Social Worker, parents and community to respond effectively with issues and problems, promoted social events through the school broadcast to develop positive community relations and actively encouraged parental involvement and communications through annual introductory letter and seeking parental feedback, input on curriculum, request for parental volunteers, invitations to Learning Centers in her classrooms.

Yaman Mohamed (Alumni)

She is student at Zayed University 4th year in international affairs major. She worked in Summer, in several places such as bank (judgment department), participating in workshops, and she just finished from volunteering in science festival - Abu Dhabi.From those places she worked in, she learnt how to deal with people, corporate with others, time management and manage each partner of work. Also, come up with solutions to fix issues faces in the department.

Furthermore, she can share her experiences in Zayed university and her other outdoor with the new students in ZU, which will be useful to them because they are learning from someone who were in their place in the first place. Second, the new students can learn from our mistakes to prevent it in the future. Over that, they can give us the new methods or what they will do in this situation, too which will give them also the full picture of being student at Zayed university and how the work field will be.

Khlood Abdulla (Student)

She is in her second year at ZU. She will study information security and networking as major. It is her second year of participating in the leadership program. Last year she only attended the leadership workshops, but this year she is one of the members who work to create the workshops and activities. She is proud to be one of the leaders, who work and lead many creative works. She is going to gain new leading skills through this program. She will try her best as a member, attend all the activities and help the program with its work.

Mentoring and leadership committee opened many doors for her, as she learned new things about the life such as the leading skills, balancing the time and thinking in critical way. She can see that the committee will provide the ZU community with great inspiring leaders who will be the lead models for many ZU first year students. Also the committee will build many skills in girls who weather participated in it or not.

Wedad Alkhoori (Student)

This is her third year at ZU, she is majoring in international affairs (HSS), she was member of French Club before, during that time the French club members including her held a lot of events at ZU such as T-shirt business, showed a movie in ZU theater and participated in La Galette event and one tour to Sorbonne University, she had volunteered in ADPEC this year. She is expecting to graduate in 2014. She wish's to be an effective member to the committee and at the same time gain experience.

Shaima Abdullah (Student)

She is majored in psychology and going to graduate after 2 years. She is going to work as a psychologist in the hospitals or schools. Her job is to solve problems, communicate with different kind of people and write reports and case study's. She know how to manage events and time, work as a team, solve problems, communicate with different people and plan for several things. She can help the committee in her area of expertise. She hopes to learn more about how to develop herself and how to become a creative person with knowing the leadership skills.

Mariam Al Haddad (Student)

She is currently a third-year student in Zayed University, majoring in Human Resource Management (HRM). She had volunteered in Sheikh Khalifa Medical Center (SKMC) and handled various tasks such as greeting visitors, delivering flowers and escorting patients which gave her self-confidence and made her a better communicator with others. She is excited to be part of the MLPD committee as she will help the alumni to build a successful bridge with the students and be able to understand them better.

She will offer the committee her skills in organization, ideas generation and communicating students concerns, ideas and possible suggestions to be implemented in Zayed University. On the other side, she hopes the committee will provide her with essential tips and experiences that will guide her to a successful future path. She also hopes the committee to contribute to Zayed University and the community by creating future Emirati leaders, ambassadors and representatives.

Mariam Alenzi (Student)

She will graduate in 2014, student in the Business College of Zayed University, specialized in Finance. Worked in the administration of a kids summer program. Attended Zayed university Lead program for two years and participated in WAGL as a delegate. She was part of different clubs ( Identity Club, Ryaheen club as a member and Euphoria as a president ) Being a part of MLPD committee is a pleasure for her, she would really love to be a part of developing ZU as a university and students by organizing useful and fun events for her colleges where they can benefit and develop, because as a student she can understand her colleagues needs and wants more than anyone else.

She is expecting from this committee to care about the students life ( including their talents, skills, interests and needs not only their academic life and history ) and to train students to be a role models and future leaders.

Maitha Ahmed (Student)

She is a student at Zayed University since 2010. She is going to graduate in 2015 with bachelor degree in Sustainability Science/Humanities specialized in International Affairs.

She had a course in psychology which helped her a lot in dealing with people and understanding them easily, In addition, she can communicate with local and foreign people. As a member she can help the students to join the committee to give them a chance to achieve their dreams and to see the ability of students in ZU of the way they can provide us with creativity and ideas in order to achieve something successful for our country.
