Introduction

Dr. Thabet joined ZU in 2005 as an assistant professor of Political Science and has been teaching a wide range of courses on the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Before joining ZU, she worked in the Egyptian Parliament (People's Assembly) as a political researcher, and a research assistant in the Institute of Arab Research & Studies, the Arab League.

Her research Interests focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, with special emphasis on Ethnic/ Racial conflict and conflict management. She participated in various conferences in Egypt, Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon, South Africa, Nigeria and USA. She also published many articles and book chapters in Arabic and in English on African Affairs.

She published translations of many book chapters of the Journal of African Renaissance as part of a joint project between the African association of Political Science and Cairo University.
