Brief Biographical Bits
Adam Jeffers was born in Queens, New York and lived in Southern California. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and Master of Arts in Education from San Diego State University. He earned his Doctorate of Education with an emphasis in Teacher Education in Multicultural Societies from the University of Southern California. His dissertation entitled, “Early Academic Experiences of Recently Incarcerated African American Males” received a nomination for dissertation of the year at USC in 2010. Adam works extensively with at-risk students in higher education and conducts research in the areas of identity development and culturally relevant pedagogy. He has taught multicultural counseling and counseling theory at the University of San Diego and is presently teaching General Education and an introduction to Entrepreneurships in the Academic Advising Department at Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates. In addition to his academic background, Adam has thirteen years’ experience in Career Development and has co-facilitated presentations on education and the American criminal justice system for student organizations at New York University, Abu Dhabi.

Teaching Areas
