Bio

Dr. Maruan Halabi is an Associate Professor at the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises at Zayed University since 2021. He achieved his PhD in Architecture and Technology in 2008 from the Superior School of Architecture of Barcelona, with the thesis under the title “The Beginnings of CAM Technology in Architecture: The Sagrada Familia”.  Dr. Halabi has been involved both academically and professionally in advanced computational design and digital fabrication in Spain, Lebanon, and the UAE since 2003. He has also worked as a consultant for the Temple of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona By Antoni Gaudi and the H2O Pavilion in Zaragoza by Zaha Hadid. He is also the head of the digital fabrication department at Sequence Contracting, based in Abu Dhabi.
