Bio

Karim Musfy is a professor and a seasoned executive with over 25 years of international professional experience in academia, design consultancy, and real estate development.

Karim is currently an Assistant Professor at Zayed University’s College of Art and Creative Enterprises. He previously worked with several design consultancy firms, including KEO and PLP, leading large-scale projects that involve the design and construction of mixed-use developments. He also worked with two leading real estate developers, Bloom Properties and Saraya Development Group, overseeing global projects collectively worth circa USD 30 Billion.  

Prior to moving to the UAE, Karim worked for three of the most prestigious international architectural firms based out of New York. He started his career with Eisenman Architects in NY, led by the renowned architect himself; he then ran his own practice in Beirut while serving as Adjunct Professor of Architecture at the American University of Beirut (AUB) for 8 years, followed by Assistant Professor at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) for a year. Karim returned to New York in 2003 to join Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) as Associate and then moved on to Perkins & Will as Senior Associate. While working with these large architectural firms, Karim managed international projects worth over USD 1 Billion, mainly in the Middle East.

Karim holds a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University. He is also a member of the Project Management Institute in New York City and the Order of Engineers and Architects in Lebanon. His work was published and cited in numerous publications including Interiority, A+U, El Croquis, and Eisenman Architect’s Diagram Diaries and Selected and Current Works.

A US citizen, Karim is fluent in both English and Arabic and has working knowledge of French. He resides with his family in the United Arab Emirates.
