Bio

Currently, Ilze is in her final stage of writing a dissertation at the Art Academy of Latvia, Ph.D. in arts/design, the thesis of dissertation: “Influence of Western advertising design principles on advertising design in the Arabian Peninsula”. Currently researching collision of the visual communication principles of Western culture and cultural background of the Middle East region, decoding visual systems of communication and cultural influences on the visual structures of advertising and media communication. Her most recent publications evaluate cultural contexts in Europe's visual communication strategies. Since 2005 Ilze gained international experience in graphic design, visual communication, art direction, visual project management, design education, design thinking, research, and analysis for design. For the last 10. years been working as a Visual Communication lecturer in a university setting in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
