Call
for Sessions
The
Call for Sessions is now closed
U.A.E. teachers
and administrators, Zayed University faculty, and Ministry of
Education and Youth personnel are invited to submit session proposals
for the Conference. Sessions will be approximately 90 minutes
long and will address the following Conference theme statement:
Academic
standards establish what K-12 students need to know and be able
to do. Related to standards discussions are their development,
implementation, and assessment as well as their relationship to
critical thinking and learner-centered outcomes. The role that
standards play in encouraging best practice in the teaching of
Primary Education, English, Arabic and Islamic Studies, Social
Sciences, Mathematics, Science, Reading, and Instructional Technology
must be examined.
The Conference
audience will be U.A.E. K-12 teachers and administrators and Ministry
of Education and Youth personnel. Some sessions will be offered
in Arabic. All sessions will include some Arabic translation.
The Conference
aims to help participants use innovative methods to teach to world-class
standards.

The due date for proposal is February 17, 2002 and notification
of acceptance is on February 27, 2002
Note:
- Each presenter
must prepare session materials/ slides in both English and Arabic.
- Each presenter
who plans to use a laptop should bring his/her own laptop.
