Lecture's title & abstract: Cloud Computing, the Standardization initiative
Cloud Computing is a new IT Services platform that is promising to change
the IT industry as we know it. Web Services are at the heart of Cloud
Computing as the facilitator of interoperability between Clouds: Public,
Private and Hybrid. Currently, Clouds are going thru the "Innovation"
phase, where every Cloud Vendor (Amazon, Google, Microsoft, IBM, etc) is
competing for market share. Yet, it's widely accepted that in order for the
Cloud to achieve its significant economical potential, Standards
development and Standards adoption are key to achieving this vision.
In this talk, I'll share with you the status of the Cloud Standards
Development: What they are, how far they have progressed, and what to
expect in the near and long term future.
