Over the past few days , a great deal of effort from both ZU and our onsite partners has
gone into resolving the power and a/c problems in our Data Centers on the new campus.
Unfortunately a resolution continues to elude us but strong attempts on several fronts are
still underway.
This morning, IT and CPDO have jointly decided that whilst a permanent resolution is
being explored, the IT relocation should proceed and we will address the issues as they
develop. We would like to advise you of the expected timelines for the relocation and the
subsequent availability of services.
Termination of services on the Dubai campus :
Sunday , August 20th, 2006 @ 4:00 pm
Expected shutdown duration: 3- 5 Days
Expected date and time services will be available :
Saturday, August 26th, 2006 @ 08:00 am
Services Affected
The following services will be shutdown while we physically relocate the equipment and will
be unavailable during the periods mentioned above:
All network drives (K:,S:,U:,V:,P: etc) access.
Groupwise (Dubai employees and students only)
Banner (Web and client/server access)
HRIS (Web and client/server access)
Blackboard
Library application-Millenium
All Web applications.
- including FAP, Graduates Employment Database, e-porfolio, on-campus Employment Database, ZU Intranet sites (Minutes, Policies, Procedures, Comprehensive Calendar), Perception, Meeting Maker, Financial Application, ZU Telephone Directory, ZU Portal & Faculty Profile
Please Note
Groupwise email for Dubai campus employees & students will be hampered and unavailable
during the relocation.You are welcome to try and connect to Groupwise anytime after the 22nd
to see if we have it available earlier.
Abu Dhabi users are kindly requested to refrain from sending Groupwise emails to Dubai users,
since the emails will be queued for delivery and will only be delivered once the Dubai mail servers
are successfully relocated.
Internet outbound email from Groupwise will continue to be sent out without any interruption from
our Abu Dhabi gateway.
Internet inbound email for Dubai users will be held in queue and will be delivered once the relocation
is completed.
