An Emphasis on Leadership

Woven throughout the curriculum, leadership development has been a core emphasis of the University since its inception. The University’s educational model equips women with the thinking and leadership skills they will need to assume positions of responsibility in business, government education and family. In 2008, Zayed University established the Office of Leadership Education, providing university programs, workshops and other events designed to provide students with the skills and confidence they need to realise their potential and effect on positive change. The Office of Leadership Education also works with faculty, offering programs for teaching and learning leadership and thus, ensuring that leadership education infuses the campus community. In September 2010, Zayed University established the Zayed University Centre for Leadership Education, Development and Research (LEDR). Building on the success of the leadership education office the LEDR Centre has expanded to include the LEAD (Lead, Engage, Advocate and Develop) Program and forged partnerships with Lund University in Sweden as well as Yale University in the United States of America.
