In March 2005, 2006 and 2008 Zayed University has hosted its Women as Global Leaders Conference welcoming over 1800 students from over 90 countries worldwide, educators and internationally renowned speakers to the Dubai and Abu Dhabi campuses in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E).

A diverse range of themes have been discussed and debated in previous Women as Global Leaders conferences such as 2005 – Educating the Next Generation, 2006 – Communities in Transition and 2008 – Learning Leadership.

On Tuesday 13th to Thursday 15th March 2012, the Women as Global Leaders conference returns to Abu Dhabi, at Zayed University’s newest campus, continuing our commitment to students and creating opportunities for  leadership education; interaction with established leaders; worldwide partnerships; shared experiences and learning from each other about women’s leadership.

The theme for the 2012 conference is Women as Global Leaders : Creating a Sustainable Future for the World.

The Women as Global Leaders Conference aims to inspire and connect the emerging generation of women leaders around from around the world with a particular focusing on educating female students about leadership and for leadership. Sessions and workshops will

focus on the primary conference theme as well as leadership education; the development of concrete leadership skills; and the empowerment of women as responsible and sustainable stewards of their communities, their countries and the world.

We invite students and educators to present sessions on their research, experiences, and thoughts on developing sustainably focused leaders and empowering women cross-culturally. All sessions will be held in English.

  • Celebrate the courage, creativity, strength of conviction and humanity of socially responsible leaders and their capacity to leave a lasting legacy impacting the sustainable future development of communities and organizations across the world

  • Inspire innovation and stimulate opportunities for women to lead responsibly in the world, in their nations, in their communities and in their homes

  • Build bridges and encourage collaboration between Zayed University students and their counterparts around the world

  • Create a synergistic, inspiration and motivational environment enabling women to emerge as responsible, ethical, unique and dynamic leaders
